TYPES OF CARE in Austin TX
Being in chiropractic care while you're pregnant helps with establishing pelvic balance and alignment . When the pelvis is misaligned it may reduce the amount of room available for the developing baby and make it difficult for the baby to get into the best possible position for delivery. Prenatal chiropractic care can help with maintaining a healthier pregnancy, controlling symptoms of nausea, reducing the time of labor and delivery, relieving back, neck or joint pain and may prevent a potential cesarean delivery.
Children have spines and a nervous system just like adults and we want to make sure they are taking good care of it especially during the developmental years. It promotes proper growth and development and helps limit health challenges such as issues with nursing and reflux. It allows a child’s nervous system and spine to grow optimally and without interference. Chiropractic treatment may reduce ear infections, bed wetting, asthma and allergies. It may improve a child’s immune system and digestive health and limit colic and constipation. It encourages nerve and brain development (neural plasticity). It can help children have proper perception and awareness. Being proactive about your child’s overall health and wellbeing may limit and support them through colds and infections and allow them to meet their optimal potential.
This is a medical practice that entails stimulating certain points on the body, most often with a needle penetrating the skin, to alleviate pain, to help treat various health conditions and influence tissues, glands, organs, and various functions of the body related to the nervous system.
THERAPIES
It’s a type of motorized traction that may help relieve back pain. Spinal decompression works by gently stretching the spine. That changes the force and position of the spine. This change takes pressure off the spinal disks. Thus, helping promote the movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids into the disks so they can heal.
This is a form of manual therapy known as soft-tissue instrument-assisted mobilization. It utilizes 6 stainless steel instruments in combination with a specialized form of massage. The instruments have rounded edges, and are used to scan and detect injured tissues. Its reduces the patient's pain and increase function by stretching connective tissue in an attempt to rearrange the structure of the soft tissue being treated. Benefits includes a decrease in treatment time, faster rehabilitation, reduced need for anti-inflammatory medication and in some cases, this treatment can be helpful in resolving chronic conditions.
The technique is called “cold” laser therapy because the low levels of light isn't enough to heat your body’s tissue. This type of therapy stimulates healing while using low levels of light. During this procedure, different wavelengths and outputs of low-level light are applied directly to a targeted area. The body tissue then absorbs the light. The red and near-infrared light cause a reaction, and the damaged cells respond with a physiological reaction that promotes regeneration. It’s also used to help reduce swelling and promote healing of the joints and soft tissue.
It’s a method of chiropractic care in which electric currents are sent through muscles in order to make them contract. This has a number of health benefits especially during the injury rehabilitation process. It is an effective therapeutic method as contracting the muscles helps relieve pain in the back or legs, reduce swelling, and promote general muscle toning. Perhaps the greatest benefit is the ability of electric muscle stimulation to speed up the recovery process.
It is used to increase a process called cell streaming. Cell streaming is the movement of fluids within the cells of the human body. This process is important because the movement of fluids allows cells to communicate with increased efficiency, thereby speeding up the healing process to the injured tissues. Thus, Ultrasound Therapy increases blood flow in the injured area, which speeds the healing process. It also reduces swelling and edema, which can be significant sources of pain. Ultrasound waves gently massage the muscles, tendons and/or ligaments in the treated area. This enhances the recovery rate of damaged tissue without adding strain, and softens any scar tissue that is usually present in an injured area.
Is a range of physical activities that helps restore and build physical strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, and stability. The goal of therapeutic exercise is returning an injured person to a pain-free, fully functioning state.
TECHNIQUES WE USE
This is where a small device is used by the chiropractor to make the adjustments (without cracking or twisting), which can be a gentle way to soothe problem areas.
Is a minimal-force adjusting method that uses specific high-velocity, low-amplitude adjustments to correct misalignments and remove interference to the central nervous system. This method is safe for all ages of children, from infants to teenagers. The 3 main objectives are to restore spinal alignment, repair joint dysfunction, and enhance proper movement.
Is a chiropractic technique which uses a precision adjusting table along with a weighing mechanism which gives sufficient tension to keep the patient in the “up” position before the thrust or pressure is applied. This technique allows for thorough and less discomforting spinal adjustments.
This tool allows your doctor to maintain the effectiveness of your treatment while greatly reducing the amount of force that is applied. Which makes it easier to use on a wide variety of conditions and ailments in much more comfortable and effective manner.
Ideal for infants and young children, individuals with acute or extreme pain, particularly sensitive individuals, individuals who dislike being “cracked”, who suffer from neck pain, who require adjustments to the extremities and elderly individuals.
